Horse Racing Betting in Canada

Horse racing is still one of the most popular sports for the betting community and in certain areas of the world, it is second only to soccer concerning the money wagered throughout a calendar year. In Canada, it’s likely to bet on horse racing using one of those authorised sportsbooks and it retains a huge following across the country.
Canadian horse racing retains a few intriguing events of its own but a lot of the greatest meetings occur elsewhere. No matter what a player’s taste could be, there are lots of alternatives for punters in Canada to wager the horses and this is our guide as to what to look out for.
Once a participant is signed up to a sportsbook, it’s easy to place a wager on the horses. With a funded account, just visit the A to Z listing of available sports and click the horse racing tab. A list of the current day’s meetings will subsequently look and it is then a case of making a selection from the runners and riders, clicking on the horse and then choosing your stake.
Alternatively, for the events that are larger there are active ante post markets that are published some way in advance. The process of gambling is the exact same for all these and here’s a guide to the type of bets you can place on any horse racegame.

Detroit Pistons: 200-1

Consider the Detroit Pistons if you’re looking for an Eastern Conference team which may make a significant jump up the standings.
Although Detroit returns the great majority of a roster that won just 29 games a year ago (also Jodie Meeks, D.J. Augustin and Caron Butler), Stan Van Gundy’s arrival as controlling officer will include structure and discipline.
We know SVG wins where he moves and he finds a way by matching playing style to be successful. It’s him, if anybody can sort out the mess and backcourt ineptitude in Detroit.
That’s not to say there won’t be significant hurdles, based on Zach Lowe of”Stan Van Gundy is a top-five coach. This group will probably be frisky, however the Brandon Jennings–Josh Smith mix –even if they play fewer minutes together–has reached’don’t hope till you see them do good basketball things status.'”
Smith and Jennings are commodities that are harmful indeed. Both can take on their staff out of games if not managed. For the Pistons Van Gundy will need to rein both while also getting more from the remainder of the roster–man-child Andre Drummond and Greg Monroe in particular.
If Drummond provides Van Gundy a passable Dwight Howard impersonation (circa 2009), this group will be in business. And by company, I mean somewhere at or slightly above .500.
Let’s not get crazy.

For Those that are brand new and want to wager on the NFL, then take a look at our explanations of two of the major markets we use for our NFL forecasts:
NFL Handicap Betting
Betting against the spread works like handicap betting in soccer. For example, our tipsters select New England Patriots -2.5 point spread in this weeks’ NFL forecasts. This usually means the Patriots must win the match by 3 or more things for us to win the wager.
In case the selection was New England Patriots -3 point disperse and they win by exactly 3 points (e.g. 23-20) then we get a refund. If it takes place in the leg of an accumulator our wager can win at reduced odds since this leg becomes emptiness.
NFL Totals Betting
Overall game points operate like betting against the spread however instead of handicaps it’s total match points we’re interested in. For instance, if our tipsters pick Over 57 total match points at New England Patriots vs Atlanta Falcons this week we need more than 57 points in the game to win this bet. But if there is exactly 57 match points (e.g. 30-27) then we will receive a refund.
If you’re betting on the NFL frequently then make certain that you understand your NFL key numbers.

Indiana State Sycamores men’s basketball

The Indiana State Sycamores Football is Your NCAA Division I men’s basketball program of Indiana State University at Terre Haute.

They compete in the Missouri Valley Conference. The team last played in the NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Tournament.
The Sycamores’ first time was 1896, making them the oldest basketball team from the NCAA along with Washington, Minnesota and Bucknell ; nonetheless, the documents from 1896 to 1899 longer exist. The Sycamores boast 2 College Players of the Year, 14 All-Americans, 39 scorers along with 1,496 victories. They are placed by their success count at the 70 of NCAA Division I programs. [4][5]
In addition, the Sycamores have 26 Post-Season Appearances (7 NCAA, 4 NIT, 1 CBI, 1 CIT, 12 NAIA and the 1936 Olympic Trials) with 5 National Championship Appearances (two NCAA, 3 NAIA). Seven Sycamores were members of this 1951 Pan-American Games Gold Medal-winning team. The Sycamore season was 1978–79, when celebrity Larry Bird led an undefeated team to its first-ever NCAA Championship appearance, in addition to the UPI National title. It finished the season with a list of 33 — 1; and lost the national title game compared to the Magic Johnson-led Michigan State team. This is the strangest run by a first-time player in the Division I tournament, and one of just 3 occasions a first-time team has advanced as far as the Final Four (UNCC in 1977 and Georgia in 1983). They wouldn’t have yet another postseason appearance.
The Sycamores were the National Runner-Up in the NCAA College Division (currently Div II) in 1968; they won the NAIA National Championship in 1950, had NAIA Finals appearances in 1946 & 1948 and NAIA National Semifinals appearances in 1949 & 1953. The Sycamores were directed Duane Klueh by All-Americans, Dick Atha and Lenny Rzeszewski. As the program transitioned from NAIA to the NCAA, one last NAIA highlight was Ray Goddard directing the Nation in FT percentage (91.2percent )[6] through the 1961-62 season. Former Head Coaches include the legendary John Wooden, Purdue All-American Dave Schellhase, Indiana coaching legend Glenn M. Curtis and famous college coaches such as Bob King, Royce Waltman, Tates Locke and Ron Greene. Former assistants include current collegiate head coaches like Thad Matta (Butler, Xavier, Ohio State), Rick Ray (Mississippi State, Southeast Missouri), Kareem Richardson (Missouri-Kansas City), Phil Hopkins (Western Carolina), Mel Garland (IUPUI), Stan Gouard (Indianapolis) and NBA Great Mel Daniels.
The Indiana State Sycamores men’s basketball team currently play their home games at Hulman Center (10,200) and are trained by Greg Lansing.

This weekend, we’ve got a 12-fight PPV card at Australia. DraftKings altered up their contests somewhat and I enjoy the new selection of contests and prizes. The main GPP is currently a $10 buy-in and $30k goes to 1st place. They also have a new Qualifier for $175,000. There’ll be 100 qualifiers for that competition and they’ll compete for a $50k first place cost and that $175k will be distributed between all 100 entries that match. Those Qualifier only contests can be actual bankroll suckers so be cautious chasing those too hard. I’ll likely stick to the top GPP this week and throw 100 or so entries at the $30k prize. I will also be posting H2Hs as well as picking up H2Hs throughout the week to get a fantastic amount of drama into money games.
Cash Game play of this week — Shane Young ($9,100)
I am not loving this slate for money games, and I was just going to decide on the main event stack for my money game play of this week. But, I will see the major event just scoring ~100 total points and once I am stacking I need a floor of 100 with upside of 160 or so. I’ve changed my stance on the stack and I believe Shane Young makes a fantastic cash game play. I don’t know how large of a ceiling he has because I do believe this struggle goes 3 rounds, but I do feel confident in him winning and much more confident in him not getting finished. I think he’s a high floor since this battle should go all 3 rounds, but I presume he’s the better fighter anyplace and that I see him winning this battle with a combination of striking and wrestling. I do think he’s 100-point upside in a conclusion, and that I also think he could finish this fight. But I feel like he’s a secure play for 80+ and that is why he’s my money game play of this week instead of my GPP play. GPP drama of the week — Kyung Ho Kang ($9,400)
I think the only way Kang loses this fight is by getting KO’d. He should be the far superior fighter around the mat, and I think he can hang the feet too. I expect him to search for takedowns early and often, and Ishihara does not have any floor game to compete with him off his back. Since Ishihara does possess hefty power in his hands I believe Kang has a floor of 0 points, but that is why he’s my GPP play of the week rather than my cash game play of the week. In money, I wish to lock in high flooring and that is not what we have here. I enjoy this more for GPPs because when he loses $9.4k it will not matter how many points he has, we would not be cashing. In cash games, we could still come off with a profit if he lost a decision at that price and scored 30-40 points, we would just need to hit on our other spots. We do not need 6 wins in cash, but we do for GPP. Thus, we can take the opportunity on a 0 there because he has 100+ upside because he will be the fighter attempting to grapple and that I could see him getting numerous takedowns in addition to a submission. I believe he has a 1st or 2nd round entry and I do not expect for him to stand too long with Ishihara. I believe Kang can outscore Adesanya in this area and I enjoy him as a pivot away from a big name who could be more popular.
Underdog drama of the week — Kelvin Gastelum ($7,300)
I am actually picking Whittaker to win this particular fight, but I also don’t really like many/any underdogs on this card. I expect this struggle to remain position for as long as it continues. I personally see this going the distance and Whittaker winning a unanimous decision. If that’s the case, then I think Gastelum gets the maximum floor of the underdogs because he will have 5 rounds to work with and he will land a reasonable number of shots. I also think if Whittaker wins a 25-minute decision that he probably only scores 85-95 DK points. At his 8.9k salary, that might not place him on the 30k lineup. If Kelvin wins, whether it be by KO or decision, he will probably be on that $30k lineup at his $7.3additional salary. That is why he is my underdog drama of this week.
Fade of this week — Sam Alvey ($7,900)
I have to remain on brand with this one and pick Sam Alvey as my fade of this week. I’ve chosen him my fade every time he’s fought so I will roll with it . The style Alvey brings to the table is simply not beneficial for DraftKings. The only way Alvey can possibly score tremendously is by getting a win. He fails to strike at a high enough pace to score highly in a decision and that he won’t be heading for any takedowns. Even if he gets a decision win here he could score 50-60 DK points and that may not be enough to win a GPP, even with him being the underdog. I want at least 10x from a fighter when I roll them and with his $7.9k price tag, so I want at least 79 DK points. I really don’t see that happening and that is why he is my fade of this week.
Thank you for reading this and good luck this weekend! If You’d like my full-card breakdown at which I breakdown every fight about the card and provide my complete DraftKings evaluation, as well as all of my pick predictions, then you can find that for just $7.99 at this link below:

In an interview with MMA OddsBreaker’s James Lynch, UFC welterweight Bojan Velickovic disclosed that his coaching partner, former RFA welterweight champion Brandon”Ruckus” Thatch has been booked to carry on Brazil’s Erick Silva. There’s no official date and place for the fight booking, along with the bout hasn’t been formally announced, but Velickovic did say it is in September, so one might guess that could be September 24th’s UFC Fight Night 95 at Silva’s backyard of Brasilia, Brazil. The two 170-pounders have their backs against the wall going into this contest, as Thatch is coming off three straight losses, being finished by rear naked choke entry in three of themand Silva is coming off a pair of defeats himself, most recently a vicious knockout in the hands of Nordine Taleb. This is a small surprise match-up, as most figured there was a good possibility both welterweights would be getting their walking papers from the promotion following their latest outings inside the Octagon. The UFC has decided that one of these must stick around, and in a promotion where some fighters become cut after just 1 reduction, these welterweights are fortunate. The two Thatch and Silva have appeared to be about a decrease in recent bouts, so it’s going to be intriguing to see how they will look against each other when they square off this September. 1 fighter’s UFC narrative will continue, while the person who tastes defeat will probably be inching closer to a Bellator contract, even when it would probably serve him better to just hang up the gloves for good. Silva stands from Kings MMA at Huntington Beach, CA under the tutelage of Master Rafael Cordeiro. Thatch and Velickovic fight from Evolution Fight Team at Denver, CO.. Velickovic faced former American Top Team training partner Michael Graves at the featured bout for the UFC Fight Pass prelims for UFC 201 last evening with his departure resulting in a vast majority draw.

The UFC featherweight championship will be on the line as Max Holloway takes on Frankie Edgar at UFC 240, taking place July 27 at Rogers Place in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.

ESPN broke the news.
At first glance, it’s a bit surprising to see Edgar receive the title taken when Alexander Volkanovski only dominated Jose Aldo in UFC 237 and supposedly earned a title shot . However, the UFC had a principal event for the July card, so Edgar understands the shot , with Volkanovski likely serving as an emergency backup for the bout. Contemplating that the Holloway vs. Edgar pairing has flopped earlier, Volkanovski would be smart to remain ready for this season.
Holloway (20-4) recently moved up to lightweight and failed in his bid to turn into a double UFC winner when he chose to Dustin Poirier in UFC 236. However he remains the UFC featherweight champion, and is now riding a 13-fight win streak at 145lbs. Though his striking defense and dimension was exposed as a lightweight against Poirier, moving back down to featherweight ought to be a fantastic move for him as he looks to get back in the win column.
Edgar (23-6-1) is coming from a decision win over Cub Swanson last April and hasn’t fought since due to accidents. Most of us know that the UFC and Edgar’s manager Ali Abdel-Aziz have a fantastic relationship, which is likely why he got this name shot over another featherweight contenders. Plus, don’t forget Edgar did the UFC a favor when he awakened on short notice to combat Brian Ortega this past year and dropped. Overall, the former UFC lightweight champion is 8-3 as a featherweight in the Octagon.
Although I am not convinced Edgar warrants this name shot, this is still an excellent fight, though there’s no doubt Holloway will be a big favorite, since he should be.
Anthony Pettis vs. Nate Diaz, UFC 241
Within an exciting welterweight bout, Anthony Pettis takes on Nate Diaz at UFC 241, taking place August 17 at Honda Centre at Anaheim, California. The UFC has confirmed this bout.
Pettis (22-8) recently moved up to welterweight and made the most of the opportunity as he brutally knocked out Stephen Thompson in one of 2019’s best KOs up to now. Pettis has struggled with his consistency the last couple of years, but he seemed revitalized against Thompson and possibly this is the start of something good for him.
Diaz (19-11) has not fought since August 2016, when he lost a vast majority decision to Conor McGregor in the pair’s rematch. Prior to that, he had won back-to-back fights over McGregor and Michael Johnson. Diaz has struggled while fighting as a welterweight, though given the fact Pettis can also be undersized for the division, this looks like a fair fight.
Although Diaz matches well stylistically against Pettis, together with the three-year layoff it is rather hard to select him to win here, and I would peg Pettis since the favored due to his existing momentum.
